This new Association was organized to facilitate the full co-operation of the Pennsylvania coal industry in the war effort during World War I. In the wake of government regulations on the distribution of coal production, the Coal Producers Association attempted to enlist the cooperation of all of the coal companies in the state to ensure these regulations remained equitable for the coal industry in Pennsylvania.
