3 boxes Linear Feet (Founded in 1915, the purpose of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) was to facilitate cooperation among teachers and research scholars in universities, colleges and professional schools for the promotion of higher education and research. Through various means, the AAUP worked to increase the usefulness and advance the standards, ideas, and welfare of the teaching profession. The IUP chapter of the AAUP, which is now defunct, was established during the early 1960s and worked to enhance the careers of professors before the IUP faculty unionized and joined APSCUF (Record Group 49). The American Association of University Professors (AAUP) papers are housed in three archival boxes. The collection, which dates from 1963-1974, contains correspondence, bulletins, meeting minutes and miscellaneous reports about Indiana State College (ISC) and later Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). Manuscript Group 207 Box 1 Folder 1 also contains information associated with AAUP.)
