Convocation has evolved since its inception at Indiana State Teachers College (ISTC). The term was used for any official college event or function often requiring students and employees to wear academic regalia (cap and gown) throughout the academic year. At present, Convocation is the official opening of the academic year. This collection is housed in 1 archival box, which contains programs and memorabilia from Convocation, the traditional opening collegiate event of the academic calendar at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP).
