The Air Ship Patents Collection is housed in two archival boxes. These papers include patents for air balloons, flying machines, aerial navigation equipment, and other aerial inventions. The patents date from 1844 to 1903 prior to the Wright Brothers flight at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Most contain a detailed sketch of the product and a letter of patented certification. This collection has been digitized.)
