18 Volumes (The first court in Indiana County was established as the Tenth Judicial District by an act of February 24, 1806. Judge John Young was commissioned as the first judge. The first court was geld on the second floor of Peter Sutton's Hotel on Philadelphia Street. The creation of the first courthouse was begun in 1807 and completed in 1809 at the corner of Philadelphia and Sixth Streets. This courthouse was deemed inadequate by 1868 and it was demolished in that year. Construction of a new courthouse began the following year and it was completed in 1870. The court was moved into a new building just a few blocks away in 1970 and currently remains in that building. The Civil and Criminal Dockets consist of 18 bound docket books from Indiana County's Magistrates Office wrapped in acid-free paper, dating from 1909 to 1955.)
