48 boxes Linear Feet (This collection contains the catalogs, Normal Heralds, Bulletins, and class schedules from the universities’ start as the Indiana Seminary up to its the present status as Indiana University of Pennsylvania. These books contain the courses, degree requirements, faculty listings, and student listings at the school from the late 1850s to the present. Most of the catalogs are available online on the archives website, under IUP Publications, http://www.iup.edu/page.aspx?id=88591 This collection is housed in 47 archival boxes. An important note is that the catalog changed names several times throughout the school’s history. The Indiana Seminary and Indiana State Normal School catalogs are in Series A from 1859-1860 and 1875-1876 to 1914-1915. The Indiana Normal School catalog becomes the Normal Herald catalog in 1915-1916, which starts in Series B Box 3. The catalog is called the Normal Herald from 1915-1916 to 1926-1927. In 1927-1928 the catalog became the Indiana State Teachers College Catalog, which starts in Series A Box 10. The catalog is called the Indiana State Teachers College Catalog from 1927-1928 to 1929-1930. The catalog is called the Indiana State Teachers College Bulletin from 1930-1931 to 1965-1966. In 1966-1967 the bulletin is renamed the IUP Bulletin, and continues to serve as the catalog until 1988-1989. In 1988-1989, the catalog becomes the IUP catalog in Series A Box 11.
