The AAUW strives for the advancement of women through advocacy and emphasis on lifelong learning. Some of the AAUW's activities include the sponsoring of competitions and awards, and congressional lobbying. The Association maintains a library and archives at its headquarters office. The American Association of University Women (AAUW) Collection is housed in five archival boxes with material dating from 1936 to 1993. The collection consists of reports and scrapbooks of the IUP chapter in Indiana, Pennsylvania. The scrapbooks include newsletters, by-laws, pamphlets, and newspaper clippings documenting the Chapter's activities.)
