Her collection focuses on the history of African Americans in Indiana County, Pennsylvania. The collection includes Sonya Stewart’s M.A. thesis entitled, “Working together: African American migration and settlement in Indiana County, Pennsylvania.” The collection has many newspaper articles and photographs related to the Ernest Grays Baseball Team from Ernest, Pennsylvania. The collection also contains information from a Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) grant including audio and video recordings about African Americans in Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
