1 box Linear Feet (Joseph and Susan I. Gatti are residents of Indiana, Pennsylvania. Dr. Susan Gatti is a Professor Emeritus of the English Department at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). Dr. Gatti’s grandfather was J.B. Parsons who attended Ohio Northern University and transferred to Carnegie Technological Institute, where he earned an engineering degree in 1912. J.B. Parsons was an engineer for the Rochester & Pittsburgh Coal Company for many years. See Manuscript Group 51 and Manuscript Group 94 for more information about the Rochester & Pittsburgh (R&P) Coal Company. This collection contains an Indiana business ledger that was found at a store that the Gatti family previously owned, and information about picnics and other social events that engineers and other employees of the Rochester & Pittsburgh Coal Company participated in including Dr. Gatti’s grandfather J.B. Parsons. This collection was donated by Joseph and Susan I. Gatti in 2015.
