2 boxes Linear Feet (Anita Malone Shaffer graduated from Indiana State Teachers College (ISTC, later IUP) with a BSED in 1954. Her parents were Paul Malone and Sylvia Mayme Phillippi Malone (October 23, 1901-April 24, 1970) who graduated from Indiana State Normal School (ISNS) in 1923. Sylvia Mayme Phillippi Malone was the daughter of Holmes Jackson Phillippi (1876-1942) and Ora Shaffer Phillippi (1880-1959). Anita Malone Shaffer’s aunts also graduated from IUP, Margaret Phillippi Lundquist (ISNS Class of 1922) and Laura Phillippi Gienger (ISTC Class of 1940). This collections contains memorabilia from Sylvia Phillippi Malone (ISNS Class of 1923) and her daughter Anita Malone Shaffer (ISTC Class of 1954) including correspondence, newspapers, photographs, and other publications. Additional material that belonged to Sylvia Phillippi included sheet music, the ISNS Alma Mater “The Spirit of Indiana,” by Hamlin E. Cogswell, 1912 (signed by Sylvia Phillippi, ISNS Class of 1923) is part of Music Department Collection, Record Group 33 Box 1 Folder 8.)
