1 box Linear Feet (The Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO) is one of the pioneer international societies for women. It was originally organized by seven students on January 21, 1869 at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. PEO has grown in membership in the United States and Canada. Its mission is to promote educational opportunities for women. PEO Chapter C was organized in Indiana, Pennsylvania, at Indiana State Normal School (ISNS) in 1926 and the By-Laws were adopted in 1932 after ISNS had become Indiana State Teachers College. The PEO Chapter C Collection contains meeting minutes dating back to 1926. The PEO Chapter C collection was donated by Ruth Riesenman in 2010.)
