1 box Linear Feet (Dr. John Douglas Baker was a Professor in the Mathematics Department at Indiana University of Pennsylvania from September 1996 until his retirement in December 2014. During his 18-year tenure at IUP, Dr. Baker taught undergraduate and graduate courses with a focus on elementary and middle school mathematics education. Prior to his appointment at IUP, he was a Lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1995-1996. Dr. Baker earned his PhD in Mathematics Education from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Before earning his doctorate, he had experience teaching elementary and middle school in Portland, Oregon. The collection includes research notes and conference materials from professional development activities including presentations and workshops that Dr. Baker participated in between 1995 and 2014 including his interview presentations at IUP in March 1996. Dr. Baker has made many presentations on integrating technology into classroom mathematic lessons at National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) national and regional conferences. He taught a graduate mathematics course in technology for teachers in elementary and middle schools, and he often used technology in his college courses. )
