6 boxes Linear Feet (Myron Lawrence Joseph (1922-June 23, 2014) was born and raised in New York City. He graduated in 1942 from the City College of New York with his undergraduate degree in economics. He earned his master’s degree in labor economics from Columbia University in 1947 before going onto earn a doctorate in economics, labor economics, and law from the University of Wisconsin in 1953, where he taught while a graduate student. Dr. Joseph joined the faculty of the Carnegie Mellon University in 1948, gaining a full professorship in 1964. He remained a professor at Carnegie Mellon until 1981, as professor of Economic and Industrial Administration, Assistant Dean of the Graduate School, 1972-1975, and Chairman of the Department of Administration and Management Science, 1964-1972. Dr. Myron L. Joseph is well-known expert on industrial relations, and he his wife Florence Breslow Joseph later lived in California. He had extensive experience as an arbitrator; designed and was chairman of the first United States Steelworkers of America program for international representatives at Penn State University in 1960. Myron Joseph was appointed Secretary of the Department of Labor and Industry of Pennsylvania in 1979. He was on arbitration panels of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service and the American Arbitration Association and he has advised the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. This collection consists of labor arbitration decision materials (decisions only) from 1964 to 2004.)
