2 boxes Linear Feet (Marion Spencer was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in December, 1893. She attended Elmira College in Elmira, New York from 1912 to 1915. She came to Indiana State Normal School as a faculty member in September of 1917. The collection contains the correspondence of Marion Spencer. Ms. Spencer's letters to her family back home in Lancaster provide unique insight into the life of a young college student and teacher in America from 1912-1918. Her letters also provide running commentary about worldly events and other topics such as religion, fashion, politics and literature.)
