3 boxes Linear Feet (This is a collection of miscellaneous newspaper articles documenting local, regional and national events. Dating from the 1930's, it includes the sesquicentennial issue of the Indiana Evening Gazette, headlines from the assassination of John F. Kennedy (November 22, 1963), and articles documenting the 1936 Flood and the 1977 Flood in Johnstown and Pittsburgh. These papers are organized in to four series; local events (Pennsylvania newspapers), IUP events, national and worldwide events, and oversized newspapers. Newspapers include the Indiana Evening Gazette, Indiana Gazette, the Penn (Record Group 21), Philadelphia Inquirer, Pittsburgh Gazette, Pittsburgh Press, New York Times, Akron Beacon Journal (1970 Kent State University Shooting), and the oldest newspaper the Ulster County Gazette (1800).)
