1 box Linear Feet (This collection includes publications and information about the Military Resource Center (MRC) and documents related to Veterans Affairs (VA) at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). The Military Resource Center officially opened on April 4, 2014. IUP is committed to providing military-friendly programs and services to our veteran and military affiliated students. The MRC serves as a one-stop information and referral site to help students transition to college life. IUP has a distinguished history of supporting its veterans, the earliest known Indiana State Normal School (ISNS) students to serve in the armed services were in the Spanish-American War in 1898. Following World War Two, many veterans took advantage of the G.I. Bill and became students at Indiana State Teachers College (ISTC) in the 1940s. In addition to the IUP Military Resource Center, visit the U. S. Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) website and visit the archival collection of the ROTC Program (Record Group 34).
