3 boxes Linear Feet (Phi Delta Kappa was founded on January 24, 1906, in Bloomington, Indiana. The IUP campus, however, did not affiliate itself with this organization of educators until 1926. For the first 25 years, IUP's chapter was modest in size, but began to pick up momentum in 1954. The Beta Phi Field chapter was established three years later. In 1962 the group obtained its present status as Epsilon Pi, the 65th chapter of Phi Delta Kappa. Outstanding members, through their work in the field of education, have been significant in revealing IUP's growth as an institution of higher learning now in its second century. The collection includes correspondence, programs, rosters, minutes, newsletters, books, and photographs by the two organizations. Container List Box 1 (10 folders) 1.
